Short Take: Road Runner subscribers top 250,000

Road Runner, the high-speed cable modem service of Time Warner and MediaOne Group, finished the first quarter of 1999 with more than 250,000 subscribers. The service, which delivers data and Internet traffic over cable wires, ended 1998 with 180,000 customers. Road Runner has its strongest deployments in the northeastern United States and is available to about 8 million homes.
