Short Take: Rhythms names president, COO

Rhythms NetConnections, an upstart digital subscriber line (DSL) provider, named Steve Stringer to the role of president and chief operating officer. Stringer previously served as global chief operating officer for GE Capital IT Solutions, a subsidiary of General Electric. Rhythms plans to offer DSL in 33 markets by the end of the year and 50 markets by the end of 2000.
