Oracle has certified Red Hat Linux as a supported operating system for using its Oracle 8i database software, the company said today. In addition, software developers will be able to download the product for free beginning September 27. In March, Oracle announced an investment in Red Hat and that it would release a free developer version of Oracle for Linux.
