Short Take: RateXchange set to launch bandwidth market

RateXchange, a company with plans to develop an online market for trading communications capacity, has completed trials of its RateXmatch service and expects to launch the system later this month. RateXmatch is intended to sell bandwidth in much the same way that natural gas or electricity is sold as a commodity. The plan calls for a standard method of buying and selling bandwidth for carriers and ISPs worldwide.
