Short Take: Qwest, Pac-West sign optical network deal
Qwest Communications International, a broadband Internet communications company, announced today it signed a $24 million contract with Pac-West Telecomm, giving the California-based competitive local exchange carrier (CLEC) exclusive rights to an OC-48 (2.4 gigabits per second) optical transport ring. The agreement enables Pac-West to provide high-speed transport services. Qwest will also provide co-location services for Pac-West.
