Wireless firm Proxim Technologies announced a 2-for-1 stock split after reporting a second-quarter profit. Excluding one-time charges, Proxim recorded net income of $3.3 million, or 23 cents per share. That compares to a profit of $2.1 million, or 17 cents per share, during the same time last year. Analysts expected earnings of 22 cents per share, according to First Call/Thomson Financial. Second-quarter revenue reached $24.5 million, up from $16.3 million last year.
