Short Take: Privacy group turns eyes to economics

Washington, D.C.-based research firm the Progress & Freedom Foundation says it is examining the economic outcome of government proposals involving privacy on the Net. The group, led in part by former Federal Trade Commission economist Paul Rubin, is expected to complete its study by next year. Research will include a "best practices" guide for government privacy policies.
