Short Take: Playboy wins 24-hour cable TV ruling

A federal court today ruled that adult cable channels such as Playboy could show programming around the clock, overturning a part of the 1996 Telecommunications Act. That law, which also included the Communications Decency Act, limited adult channel programming to the hours between 10 p.m. and 6 a.m., unless expensive blocking equipment was installed by cable companies. Playboy Enterprises brought suit against the law last year.
