Integration software maker Phoenix Technologies announced that it has entered into an agreement to acquire privately held Sand Microelectronics for $27.5 million. This acquisition, together with its recently announced merger with Award Software International, will allow Phoenix to combine Award's interconnect enabling software with Sand's intelligent semiconductor products Sand and Phoenix's Virtual Chips.
