Short Take: PeoplePC enters domain-name business

PeoplePC, which sells low-cost computers, has entered the domain-name business by offering its customers direct access to the .ws domain--from the island nation of Western Samoa. Customers of PeoplePC--which has signed a deal with registrar Website.ws--can reserve a .ws Internet address for less than $35 a year. In addition, PeoplePC customers will receive a Web-based email address that, according to WebSite.ws, will never need to be changed, even if the customer changes Internet service providers.
