Short Take: PeoplePC adds two laptops, faster chip

San Francisco-based PeoplePC today said it is adding two laptop models and a faster Intel Pentium III desktop computer to its lineup. The basic laptop is available for $49.95 per month, a higher-end model goes for $84.95 per month, and the new Pentium III desktop sells for $39.95 per month. The company will continue to sell two cheaper models priced at $24.95 and $29.95 a month. All PeoplePC models are offered with payments spread over three years and include unlimited Internet access. PeoplePC also said it will offer standalone Internet access for $9.95 a month.
