Short Take: Pac Bell rolls out ADSL in 180 communities

Pacific Bell has deployed most of the asymmetrical digital subscriber lines (ADSL) it announced it was planning in May. ADSL, which allows speedy Net connections using regular copper phone lines, is available to Pac Bell customers in 180 communities via 75 central offices. All 87 Pac Bell central offices will be ADSL-equipped by September 8, according to the company.
