Short Take: Pac Bell faces more ISDN scrutiny

The California Public Utilities Commission will decide May 21 whether to fine Pacific Bell $515,000 for falling below ISDN service performance standards it set last year. The CPUC let Pac Bell raise ISDN rates by 33 percent last spring, but said no more than 10 percent of customers could find the service "inadequate" or "poor." Pac Bell's surveys show it missed the mark numerous times.
