Short Take: Oracle pilots rent-an-app

As previously by CNET News.com, Oracle has begun a pilot of its Oracle Business OnLine hosting service for renting enterprise business applications. Targeted to smaller companies, the subscription service will provide Oracle financial, manufacturing, distribution, and human resources applications. Later Oracle plans to add software from other vendors that add functions. Subscribers link to the service using a Java-compliant Web browser.
