Short Take: Northern Telecom, Bay merger wins EU approval

The European Commission announced it had granted regulatory approval to Canadian telecommunications company Northern Telecom's $9.1 million acquisition of networking company Bay Networks. The two companies announced that they had won approval from the Canadian Competition Bureau.
