Nokia plans to issue about $9 billion of new stock to help fund possible acquisitions of Internet-related companies, a company spokesman said. The Nokia board approved the new stock offering at its general meeting on March 17. Analysts say the company could invest in Internet infrastracture, companies with handheld computer technology, and startups that build Internet-related software for wireless phones and other handheld devices.
