New Oak Communications, an Acton, Massachusetts-based start-up, announced a new networking switch called the NOC 4000 that uses software to offer each user a specific set of services tailored to their needs. The switch can handle 200 to 2,000 users who can access internal networks remotely using secure tunneling, providing outside clients with access to internal corporate information. The NOC 4000 costs $50,000 with an unlimited client license and will be available in November.
