Short Take: Networking start-up Tellium pushes new switching devices

High-end optical networking start-up Tellium announced it will offer its Aurora 32 switching devices to bandwidth wholesaler Extant. The devices will be deployed throughout Extant's optical network as part of a $250 million agreement with Tellium. Extant will use Tellium's technology in eight cities by the end of this year, with plans to adopt the forthcoming "Super Switch" in 2000.
