Short Take: Network General announces COO

Network General announced the first COO in the history of the company, David Carver, whose title also includes executive vice president. The company reorganized into a business-unit concept last summer, necessitating changes in the power structure of the company. Carver joined Network General in 1995 after 20 years in various marketing and management posts at Hewlett-Packard. Network General makes hardware and software network performance analysis tools.
