Network Computing Devices announced that it plans to acquire the network displays unit of Tektronix. This unit produces Windows-based terminals, network computers, and other thin client computing systems and software. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed but the deal is expected to be complete by the end of the year. Tektronix is a $2.1 billion company which primarily designs, develops, manufactures, and markets measurement, color printing, and networking products.
