Short Take: Network Associates acquires Helix Software

Enterprise network security and management solutions company Network Associates, formerly McAfee Associates, announced that it has signed a definitive agreement to acquire privately held Helix Software, maker of the Nuts & Bolts desktop utility suite and other PC performance-enhancing software. Nuts & Bolts will be integrated with Network Associates' ServiceDesk product line to create a self-healing PC that reduces the ownership costs for corporate PCs, NetPCs, and network computers.
