Short Take: Net2Phone cuts IP telephony prices

In hopes of luring more U.S. residents to its IP telephony service, Net2Phone dropped prices for phone calls to 4.9 cents per minute. Domestic phone calls from PCs currently cost 10 cents a minute from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m., and 15 cents a minute from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., a Net2Phone spokeswoman said. The new pricing structure takes effect on January 1. Existing customers can re-apply to get the new rate, she added.
