Revenues from Internet yellow pages approached $22 million in 1997, according to a report by Cowles/Simba Information, up from $4 million generated in 1996. The report, which included print yellow pages publishers, start-up online directories, and niche services, cited new entrants in the market and larger revenues to existing services for the increase, and predicted revenues of $165 million in the year 2000.
