Short Take: NEC, Matrox announce 3D card

NEC Electronics and Matrox Graphics announced the Matrox m3D graphics card will be available in the fourth quarter of 1997. Including 4MB SDRAM and NEC's PowerVR PCX2 graphics accelerator, the card sustains a fill rate of 40 million pixels/sec on a Pentium Pro, the two companies claim. The 3D card will sell for an estimated street price of $99.
