Short Take: MS posts ASF spec

Microsoft has posted the complete specification for its ASF (Advanced Streaming Format) streaming media file format to its Web site. Microsoft is pitching ASF as an industry standard for defining the storage format for streaming media. It is intended to replace a variety of separate file formats, such as WAV and AVI.
