Short Take: MS alters IE for security

Microsoft has removed a function in its new Internet Explorer 3.02 browser that will force some developers to rewrite elements of their Web sites. The company says it turned off the "Explorer object" function of VB Script and JavaScript for security reasons. The function lets a Web site remove the navigational controls from a browser. Microsoft will shortly post "workaround" code for developers that will let them launch a second browser without these navigational controls.
