Microsoft named John Lauer as its vice president, Far East. Lauer will manage the Far East operations--including marketing, sales and support, consulting, and research and development--from Tokyo. He replaces Charles Stevens. Lauer most recently was regional director for Microsoft Southeast Asia and before that was general manager of Microsoft Malaysia.
