Short Take: Microsoft joins ICE group

Microsoft has joined an authoring group to define a specification known as ICE (Information & Content Exchange), currently pushed by publishing software vendor Vignette and Firefly Networks. ICE aims to help sites exchange information or "electronic assets" with each other automatically. Separately, Firefly just shipped the 3.1 version of its personalization software for networked sites, which supports ICE.
