Short Take: Microsoft gives MarchFirst $12 million loan

Microsoft gave a $12 million interest-free loan to Internet consulting company MarchFirst in April, according to a 10-Q filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission. In the document, filed Monday, MarchFirst said it needs about $50 million through the end of this year. MarchFirst, created from the Whittman-Hart and USWeb/CKS merger, has long been allied with Microsoft and has promoted the software maker's technology.
