Short Take: Microsoft buys Softway Systems

Microsoft acquired the assets of San Francisco-based Softway Systems, a privately held maker of products used to help companies move Unix-based program code to the Windows NT operating system. Financial terms of the acquisition were not disclosed. Microsoft said it expected many members of Softway's development team to become employees of Microsoft.
