Short Take: Micromuse posts quarterly profit

Network management software maker Micromuse posted second-quarter income of $3.1 million, or 8 cents a share, compared with a profit of $2 million, or 6 cents a share, during the same period last year. Quarterly revenue jumped from $12.6 million last year to $27.1 million this year. A consensus of analysts had predicted earnings of 7 cents a share.
