Short Take: MCI WorldCom sues Ameritech over toll calls

MCI WorldCom sued Ameritech in Michigan state court, charging that the Baby Bell has blocked consumers from switching to MCI for local toll calls. Ameritech says it has protected its consumers from "slamming," or unauthorized switching of their telephone service to another provider. But MCI charges that Ameritech is blocking its customers' legitimate requests to switch providers.
