Short Take: MCI names acting CFO

MCI Communications named Michael Rowny as acting chief financial officer effective May 1, to replace Douglas Maine, who is leaving to take the same job at IBM, according to Reuters. "Rowny has played a leading role in the announced merger with WorldCom and will be responsible for planning MCI's transition to the merger with WorldCom, which is expected to occur this summer," an MCI statement said.
