Short Take: Mayfield slates $1 billion for infrastructure, wireless investing

Mayfield Fund, a Silicon Valley venture firm, announced that it has completed funding for a $1 billion fund that will invest in companies specializing in Internet infrastructure and wireless communications. The fund, the firm's 11th, is more than twice the size of its previous fund, which capped out at $450 million. Mayfield was a venture investor in, among other companies, BroadVision and Citrix Systems.
