Short Take: Macromedia subject of class-action complaint

A class-action complaint was filed last week on behalf of purchasers of Macromedia common stock during the period April 18, 1996, through January 9, 1997, inclusive. The complaint, the second shareholders suit filed against the company, alleges that five Macromedia executives, including CEO John C. Colligan, violated the Securities Exchange Act by issuing materially false and misleading statements regarding Macromedia's financial results. Plaintiffs are being represented by the law firms of Rabin & Peckel and Schubert & Reed.
