Macromedia today beat analysts' expectations for its second-quarter earnings performance, posting a 21-percent increase in revenues to $35.2 million for the quarter. Net income rose to $4.2 million, or 10 cents a share, compared with profits of $313,000, or 1 cent, a year ago. Analysts had expected earnings of 8 cents a share.
