Short Take: Livingston files countersuit

Livingston Enterprises filed a countersuit against U.S. Robotics. Livingston seeks financial damages and an injunction prohibiting USR's use of trade secrets previously licensed to USR, including the PortMaster ComOS remote access operating system. Livingston said USR failed to return source code as required by the terms of a licensing agreement the companies entered into in September 1994. In October 1996, USR filed suit against Livingston alleging breach of contract and unfair trade practices.
