Baltimore Technologies announced J/SSL, a 128-bit secure communications toolkit written entirely in Java and based on Baltimore's J/Crypto 2.0 technology and Secure Socket Layer (SSL) 3.0 security. It is targeted to developers creating online banking, home shopping, and other e-commerce applications. Written in Ireland, it is not subject to U.S. export restrictions and utilizes X.509 digital certificates. Pricing will be announced when J/SSL ships in January.
