Business software maker J.D. Edwards reported second-quarter earnings above revised estimates. For the quarter, net income was $1.7 million, or 2 cents per share compared with net loss of $8.8 million, or 8 cents a share in its year-ago period. Including acquisition-related charges in the quarter, J.D. Edwards posted a net loss of $2.3 million, or 2 cents a share, compared with a loss of $10.4 million, or 10 cents. Analysts polled by First Call said they expected the company to post a loss of 11 cents per share.
