Short Take: ISP Netcom offers long distance phone service

Internet service provider Netcom has begun to offer long distance telephone service to its subscribers. The service, which is provided by its parent company ICG Communications, will charge 8.9 cents per minute in certain markets, and is slated to be expanded nationwide by the end of the third quarter of 1998.
