Short Take: Ignition, other VCs invest in eTrieve

Ignition, a wireless Internet investment firm backed by former Microsoft and McCaw Cellular executives, made eTrieve the first company it has funded. Ingition's investment is part of a $13 million second round of financing that included stakes by Softbank Venture Capital, Madrona Venture Group and previous first round investors. eTrieve is a wireless Internet start-up company offering a system enabling consumers to retrieve email by listening to a text-to-speech audio software conversion over the phone.
