Short Take: IBM launches U.S. patent search site

IBM has launched a Web site for finding information on more than 2 million U.S. patents issued since 1971. IBM's Patent Server site offers searches by patent number or by keywords in title, inventor, assignee, abstract, claims, attorney/agent, and patent reference categories. The site also can access images of nearly 1 million U.S. patents issued since 1987; images of patents from 1974 to 1986 patents will be added this quarter. Patent Server services are free of charge.
