Short Take: Hybrid, Alcatel collaborate on data-modulation

Cable modem company Hybrid Networks announced that it has entered into an agreement with a subsidiary of telecom systems and services provider Alcatel Alsthom in which the two companies will develop broadband data-modulation technology and cross-license the technology developed. Under the terms of the agreement, Alcatel acquired a five-year warrant to take an approximately 6 percent stake in Hybrid.
