Hewlett-Packard's board of directors has approved an increase of the quarterly dividend on the company's common stock to 16 cents per share from 14 cents. The board also declared that its next dividend will be payable on July 15 to shareholders of record as of June 24. As of April 30, the end of the second quarter of HP's fiscal year, the company had about 1.04 billion shares outstanding.
