Short Take: HP to sell custom-order systems through Circuit City

HP announced it will kick off a pilot program letting customers buy customized, "build-to-order" Pavilion consumer PCs through 510 Circuit City/CompUSA stores. As reported earlier, customers will configure and order Pavilion 8300 models on electronic kiosks set up in the retail outlets. Compaq and IBM are rolling out a similar service.
