Hewlett-Packard and Tmanage announced they have formed a strategic alliance to deliver products and services to the emerging "telework" market. As part of the alliance, HP has made an equity investment in TManage. "Together we will be able to install, power and support all of the remote-working needs of employees who work from home offices, as well as corporate road warriors," said Glenn Lovelace, founder and chief executive officer of Tmanage. " This includes everything from integrating phone services to creating and supporting network access, to delivering office furniture and computer equipment." The number of teleworkers in the United States has increased at an annual growth rate of 18.6 percent and will reach approximately 30 million by the end of 2000, representing one-third of the total U.S. workforce.
