Hewlett-Packard released the Network
ScanJet 5, which replaces the company's ScanJet 4Si scanner. With the new
scanner, users can send scanned documents directly from the control panel.
The scanner is supported by Microsoft Windows NT, Novell NetWare, and IBM LAN Server. ScanJet 5 costs about $3000
for an Ethernet
10Base-T or 10Base-2 connection, and about $3,200 for Token Ring, Ethernet
100VG
or 100Base-T.
