Hewlett-Packard unveiled two color flatbed scanners for home users. The canJet 3400C and 4300C models feature dual USB and parallel connectivity, 36-bit color depth and 600 dots-per-inch (dpi) optical resolution. Also new for small- and home-office users is the ScanJet 5370C, available for PC and Macintosh with 42-bit color depth and 1,200-dpi optical resolution. Prices are $129 for the 3400C; $149 for the 4300C scanner, with advanced copier functions; and $299 for the 5370C.
