Short Take: House committee to vote on spam bill

The House Commerce Committee is expected to vote on legislation August 4 to fine bulk emailers up to $15,000 for using fake return email addresses. The bill also requires commercial emailers to accurately identify themselves with a physical address and telephone number, and to honor "remove" requests for their email lists. The Senate passed the bill in May.
