Short Take: Hosting firm nets $108 million in funding
Switch & Data Facilities, a privately held Internet data center company, received $108 million in third-round equity funding from BancBoston Capital, DB Capital, A.G. Edwards, American General Financial Group, Union Bank and individual investors. Existing investors Seaport Capital and Summit Capital group contributed again. The Tampa, Fla.-based Switch & Data operates 18 data centers and has plans to use the funds to build a total of 40 by the end of the year.
